Marquee

Display testimonials in a continuous, scrolling marquee.

The Marquee block streams testimonials across the screen in a smooth, endless ticker. Because it never stops, it's a lively way to pack a lot of social proof into a small band — popular on landing pages and above footers.

When to use it

  • A "wall of love" band that scrolls automatically.
  • Showing dozens of short reviews without pagination.
  • Adding subtle motion to a landing page.

How to add it

  1. Click the + block inserter and search for Marquee.
  2. Open Query Builder to choose which testimonials appear.
  3. Set the direction, speed and number of rows.

Layouts

Like the Carousel, the Marquee's Layouts panel has two tabs — Settings for the layout and Marquee for the scrolling motion.

Marquee Layouts panel — Settings tab

On the Settings tab:

ControlWhat it does
Select Card StyleOne of six card designs.
Display DirectionHorizontal (default) or Vertical scrolling.
ColumnsItems visible across the band, per device. Default 3 / 2 / 1.
Column Gap / Row GapSpace between items and between rows, default 24 / 16 / 12 px.
RowNumber of stacked marquee rows (1–3, default 1).
Fade Slider EdgesSoftly fade cards in and out at the edges of the band.

On the Marquee tab:

Marquee Layouts panel — Marquee tab

ControlWhat it does
Sliding SpeedHow long one full scroll cycle takes — 3,000–120,000 ms, default 25,000 ms. Higher is slower.
Sliding DirectionRight to Left (default) or Left to Right — Bottom to Top / Top to Bottom when vertical.
Reverse Multi-Row DirectionAlternate the scroll direction of each row (labeled Reverse Column-Row Direction when vertical).
Pause on HoverStop scrolling while the pointer is over the marquee. On by default.

The Marquee scrolls continuously, so it has no navigation arrows, pagination dots or Ajax Pagination — and it doesn't offer the Review Summary, Live Frontend Filter or Ajax Testimonial Search add-ons either. If you need filtering or search around your testimonials, use the Grid or Carousel.

The Row count uses your desktop value everywhere

On the front end, the number of scrolling rows follows the Desktop value of the Row control — the tablet and mobile row counts you set only change the editor preview. Pick the row count that works on desktop.

Query Builder

This panel decides which testimonials scroll by. Pull the latest ones, one or more groups, a hand-picked set, or only high star ratings — then set the display limit and the order (or shuffle randomly). See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Card Content

This panel controls the testimonial card itself: toggle and drag-to-reorder the parts on it (photo, title, text, rating, name and more), set the alignment and a hover effect, and style the card's background, border, shadow, corners and padding. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Testimonial Content

This panel shapes the title and the quote — heading tag, full or trimmed length with a Read More action (expand, popup or link), optional quote symbols, plus typography and colors for both. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Star Rating

This panel styles the rating on each card: pick from 16 icon styles (stars, hearts, thumbs and more), set the size and spacing, and choose the filled and empty colors. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Reviewer Image

This panel controls the reviewer photo: resolution, aspect ratio and size, the fallback avatar for testimonials without a photo, retina loading, and click-to-play video testimonials. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Reviewer Details

This panel handles the who-said-it line — the name's heading tag, a verified badge, how company info, location and date are displayed, and typography for each part. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Social Media

Shown when the Social Profiles card part is on, this panel sizes and styles the reviewer's social icons — icon size, clickable area, gap and colors. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Motion Effects

This panel adds movement as the block scrolls into view — an entrance animation (fade, slide, zoom, bounce) and an optional scrolling effect, per device. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Advanced Settings

This panel covers the whole block: a background with padding and margin, per-device visibility (show or hide the block on desktops, tablets or mobile devices), and custom CSS class and ID fields for your own styling. See the full breakdown in the Carousel reference.

Tips

  • Use 2 or 3 rows with Reverse Multi-Row Direction for a layered, dynamic effect.
  • Keep quotes short so cards stay compact as they scroll.
  • Fade Slider Edges looks best against a plain background.
  • Slow the Sliding Speed (a higher value) so visitors can actually read as it moves.
